Is your brake fluid up to speed?
- Brake fluid is hydraulic fluid, used to transfer force into pressure. It is subjected to very high temperatures, especially in the wheel cylinders on drum brakes, and disc brake calipers. Healthy brake fluid has a high boiling point. However the fluid is hygroscopic (water absorbing), so it will deteriorate over a period of time. This leads to a spongy pedal and possible damage to brake parts internally.
- The level will also fall through normal useage as your brakes wear so it may need to be topped up.
- We can quickly measure the health and level of the fluid and advise if any action is required
- And we'll do the test for free!
